
Steve graduated in 1981 with a degree in Building Economics and joined Bucknall Austin and Partners, a fast growing and innovative partnership offering professional services to property developers, investors and occupiers of real estate.
In the mid ‘80s he became a partner in Bucknall Austin and in 1988 was part of the team that successfully floated the company on the London Stock Exchange.
In the ‘90s he took the company through a change programme in response to the changing needs of the industry and the company’s customers. In the early ‘90s Steve set up a number of new companies, including Vector, the aviation and transportation specialist, and Marlin, the Group’s construction management company. In 1990 he established Bucknall Group’s FM Company, FBA, which became part of Citex in 1998.
In 1998, Steve led the MBO of the Bucknall Group concluding with the privatisation of the Group and the creation of the Citex Group.
In 2001 Steve joined Brixton plc as Senior Director - Customer Services. He is responsible for delivering property and facilities services to the company’s 2000+ tenants. In 2002, he established B-Serv, Brixton's asset management and customer services subsidiary. B-Serv has since won a number of awards for its innovative approach to property management and customer services.
