
Ian joined the BIFM as CEO in May 2004, leaving Johnson Controls IFM after almost 11 years. His last role was European Director of Strategic Marketing.
His career in workplace management spans 31 years and covers both the private and public sectors. His involvement in the industry has included 13 years working in the NHS, eight years with IBM and then his stint with Procord/Johnson Controls.
Ian has a long association with the Institute as he was its Chairman for two years from June 2000 and has held a number of key appointments, including Deputy Chairman, Chairman of the BIFM South Region and Chairman of the International Committee.
Away from work, Ian is a keen golfer and is Chairman of Governors of one of Hampshire’s largest primary schools.

Ian and his wife did not own a television for over 22 years! He is a Solent Swimmer.
